On the 1st Falgun

By Mohtarimun Nahar [Bipa]

On the first Falgun, 1415 [Bengali month, year] Bengali people celebrate this day with a great joy. Many cultural programs are arranged on this day. Bengali girls & women wear Saree. People prefer yellow color based dresses on this day. From 1st Falgun the Winter season gets to end and the king of the seasons Spring starts. The nature starts changing in new beauty. In the winter season the nature becomes rough & lifeless. After the winter the nature decorates her with new leaves & many colorful flowers. That’s why Bengali people cheer on this day and pass the day with festive & gay mood.

I also celebrate this day with my friends & family. On this 1st Falgun I celebrate with my newly married brother & sister-in-law. We had a trip to Munshigonj by ship. We started our journey from Buriganga River and end our journey at Shitalaksha River. We went to my brother’s friend’s home. It was like a picnic. My brother’s friend arranged everything. The journey was for two hours. When we reached at Munshigonj we found many types of hand made cakes, paste of different fruits & drinks were arranged for us. At noon we had Kacchi Biriany as lunch. In the afternoon curd & tea were arranged. We passed some times at the side of Shitalaksha River. In the evening we started our journey for Dhaka. We had a great fun there. We are really grateful to my brother’s friend Mr. Jubaidur Rahman Khan for giving us a wonderful trip on 1st Falgun.

Memorable Day

By Ayesha Sanjida Synthia

In the last winter of 2007 I went to National Zoo with my family. The zoo is situated in Mirpur. We started our journey at 6 o’clock. We reached at the zoo at 7 o’clock. It was a great pleasure to visit the zoo. At first we took tickets. There was a huge rush in front of the zoo. When we got into the zoo I saw, it was staying very hard security in every where. When we entered in the zoo, our joys know no bounds.

At first we went to the den of the monkeys. The monkeys were coming close to us and we were giving them chips, nuts and banana. The monkeys were enjoying the foods. Then we visited to the den of the tigers and the lions. In the mean time we got tried and sit down to take some snacks. After that we saw the giraffe, zebra, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, crocodile, tortoise, different kinds of snake and python. The zebra looks nice. As it was winter, the zoo lake was full of different birds. I saw the peacock, crane, kingfisher, vulture, cuckoo, parrot, mynah, nightingale, owl, eagle, kite, woodpecker, goose, duck, cockatoo and our national robin. The jiraf looks awesome.

In the zoo we also visit to a museum. It was animal’s museum. From the museum I knew about many animals. At last we arrived at the den of the elephants. We also rode on elephant for a short time. It was very enjoyable.

When we finished moving around the zoo, it was about 1 o’clock. We came out from the zoo. We were very tired and thirsty. It was the memorable day in my life.

Two Days at Cox’s Bazar

By Nilufa Parvin

A few months ago I visited Cox’s Bazar with my friends and two teachers on purpose of study tour. Our bus entered at Cox’s Bazar in afternoon. There were rows of tamarisk tree on both sides of the road. Suddenly mass of water attracted our eyes from far and it seems to that the sea was greeting us with its vastness and solemnity. We also responded with shouting and joy. After a moment we went down from bus and reached at seashore through sandy-bank. Besides sea-breeze, ocean currents were touching us. After seeing the amazing view of sunset at sea-level we returned in our bus and following then we reached at hotel “Holiday In”

Picture: Sunset at sea-level.

After refreshing we had delicious dinner with rice and rupchada fish. Then we went Burmese market for shopping. We fussed noisily here and there of the market till night. We got up early in the morning and went to sea-beach for taking sea-bath. We overwhelmed to cast in the sea. We have also collected many sea-borne cockles there.

Picture: We are at sea

Later than we had our breakfast and went to “Radar Station” to collect information to serve the main purpose of study tour. After visiting Radar station we took our lunch and started our journey to Inani sea beach. What a fantastic path! There are hills on one side and sea on the other side of the road. After one hour we reached at Inani sea beach. Its elegance, astonishing sight fascinated us. Again we returned back to Holiday In.

After refreshing and having dinner we went to seaside for camp fire. We passed our time with humor and fun, sing-song. Roar of sea waves and glitters of stars were remarkable companion for us.

My Journey at Cox’s Bazaar

By Lubana Rahman

“I was shocked, my blood was running in my veins in so high speed …I am suddenly reached in cloud nine! I can’t believe this! Is it happened at last or still I am in dream…”---this was my first inner expression when I have heard about this trip from my husband. He was planning to give me surprise and he succeeded on it!

I am not an extrovert person but I do love journey, outing and of course cooking. But here, today, I am taking you with me into my journey at Cox’s Bazaar through my experience.

Our journey began at dawn. We caught 7 o’ clock’s train. I relieved my breath after taking a seat in train. As my husband, Riaz and me both are service holder, we have very little common leisure time. We were planning for this journey by train to Cox’s Bazaar for few years. However, suddenly, at night, after returning home from his job, he told me that I have a surprise for which I am devouringly dreaming and that was the very next day we were setting off to Cox’s Bazaar. Hurriedly, I arranged the entire luggage, taking digital camera for capturing beautiful moments, taking a flask full of tea and some dry food.

We reached at chittagong rail station after a seven hours journey. I enjoyed all the views the journey could offer along its rail-tracks; passing time eating, drinking, and taking some snaps. From station, we send off for our cousin’s house at Agrabad with handful of sweets and fruits as a gift of our hearty hospitality to them. After taking a half hour refreshment, we are getting ready for roaming in Foyze Lake with our cousin. There a pleasing, heart-charming view waiting for us to welcome these thirsty, eager eyes of us. What a view! I don’t know the exact expressing word which can truly express my feelings; I am lacking of that! It is so huge that one day must be scheduled for enjoying those heart-cooling, spell-bounded views. We did regret of spending such little time here. We just did some rides, boating less than for half an hour, riding on hills and sipping the beauties as my athirst eyes can do. We took snaps even after dark as if framing out could save more time to view these beauties for longer!

Some pictures of Fayaze Lake:

I am with my husband

Next day, we were set off for Cox’s Bazaar in rain by bus. You can go at Cox’s bazaar by bus or reserve taxi; it is three-hour journey but don’t worry, your heart is already stealing away by roadside views. Those heart-thundering scenarios make you forget all the tensions, boringness and tiredness. Fresh, hilly air filled with welcoming aroma, engulfing us to its enchanting views. I enjoyed with every cells, with every breath, with my heart and with my soul. Chips and soft drink just worked as catalyst in this bus-journey.

Some pictures of Cox’s Bazaar:

Taking a meal from a restaurant, we step for the sea-beach. It was a wintry noon; its chilling was little higher because few hours ago, a hilly raining spread its touches to the weather. Waves were coming and breaking on beach…as if…as if...So many unspoken words, stories were trying to say its visitors but before it reaching to us, just breaking down. The sky bent down with the sea at horizon. To me, the world seems stopped there, I was drowning, drowning to its silence, bewildering to its hugeness, to its enormous beauty, overwhelmed by all of the sea and the horizon has offered to me.

There is a small market, build up based on handicrafts of oyster-shell of mollusk. We did roaming here and there, eating local food and then waving good bye to Cox’s Bazaar; we were heading for Agrabad by bus at 5 p.m. In downpour rain, we reached at our cousin’s home at 9.30 p.m.

The next day in Agrabad make me wake up with its soft, drizzling sound of cats and dogs rain. Today we booked the whole day for Potenga sea-beach. Here, we did shopping till noon for our family as souvenir from Chittagong, then stepped down to the beach after enjoying mouth-watering local meals, seeing the ebb and flow, taking snacks and of course lots of snaps before returning to our cousin’s home.

Some pictures of Potenga sea-beach:

This is the last day here. We, today will go back again Dhaka by train at 3 p.m. this last day, Chittagong offered us a bright, sunny day from her lap as special souvenir to us as if, “see, I also have bright sunny day!”. After taking breakfast, we headed for Chittagong war-cemetery for the few hours we have before leaving Chittagong. This cemetery is build for those brave soldiers who died in World War II. This place is so solemn, so calm and beautifully mantled with lime, green grass, scented flowers as if to show them this ‘world’-y respect to their sacrificed soul. I bend my head to those graves that fights for this wonderful world.

Some pictures of World War II:

Our train journey towards Dhaka began at 3 o’ clock. We did lunch in train, enjoying this seven-hour long journey with chips, flask full of tea, fruits and the views. We reached at Dhaka at 11 o’ clock. Here it is ended but I am luring for again the journey to Cox’s Bazaar, tempting to spend more days there, enticing to sip all the beauties it has offered to me. How many unvisited sights are still there! How many waves are still breaking down, telling so many unspoken stories to its viewers… Ahhh, what a journey it was!

Signature of my teacher

Translated by: Golam Rabbany Sujon
Written in Bengali: Poli akter

Teacher of our country is the founder of our nation. We respect them like our parents. Because they help us to be establish in the society besides our parents. So, we greet (salam) them when we meet in the street or anywhere. After passing H.S.C. (class-12), I bought an admission form to get admission in honors level to a university. I got only two days to submit this admission application form. So, I was worried and busy to collect every necessary document according to the rules. So next day I went to the college to photocopy my mark-sheets and attach my photos. After entering to the college office room I saw everyone showing very busy. None of them was interested to talk with me. Our principal was not in the college but one of our Prof. Madam was in-charge. After waiting long time Madam came to the room and then I requested her to sign and I gave her my documents. She told me to wait two hours and then she would sign otherwise another sir would sign.
Then that sir was in the college but I knew that sir’s residence as he lived in near our area. Then I thought that it would be better to go to the sir’s house than waiting two hours in the college. So I started to go to sir’s residence. I was thinking and feeling hesitation as I did not go to his house ever. Then it was afternoon. Sir used to live fifth floor. After climbing up the stairs I found the doors of sir’s floor were open and I saw some students were waiting for sir. Sir teaches these students at his house to earn some extra money. Then sir was in another room. I was waiting for him. After a long time he came to the room to teach the students. I gave him salam and I told him that I need his sign to my document. I could not complete my words he became very angry on me and he started to scold me in front of all the students. He alone spoke his speeches but he did not want to hear what I wanted to say. All-most whole day I passed to take signature. Being very much shocked I returned from his house and I could not keep my tears while I was passing every stair. Yes, at last he signed on my every document.

Then I found the most beautiful place there. It was a big green field. There were so many corn, crops, cattle etc. Some children were playing there. We walked for a long time on that field.

There we took some photos together. We swam in the river. I went to the village in the winter season. My aunt made some items of cake. In the morning we drank date juice. In the evening we made a lot of fun there.
We enjoyed there very much. My cousins were so friendly with me. After 5 days we returned back home in Dhaka. Those days were very enjoyable and memorable days for me. I will never forget that journey.

Last year I visited in The Ekushey Boi Mela

By Laily Jahan Meghla

In Bangladesh we celebrate many fairs. Such as: fair on Pohela Boishakh, Poush Mela, Trade fair, Ekushey Boi Mela etc. We celebrate these once in every year.

21st February is our Shahid Dibosh. We celebrate Ekushey Boi Mela in the whole month of February in every year. This fair is held in Bangla Academy. It starts on 1st February for one month in every year to remind us the struggle and sacrifice for the language of Bangla. Every year the fair is organized by Bangla Academy.

A book fair is an attractive fair, where different types of books are displayed and sold. Many new books of many writers are published in every year in this fair. Now a day it has become very popular.

Every year I try to visit this book fair. Last year I visited in this fair with some of my friends. When I entered through the main gate of the fair I found a different environment.

The fair was very crowded. Men, children and women of all ages and classes gathered there. We had to stand for a large line to get entry in the fair.

I found many small and big stalls and many sorts of books and CDs on dramas, children’s books, reference books, poetry books, novels etc in the fair. The stalls were occupied by different publishers.

We visited all the stalls. I bought some of my favorite writers’ books. In the evening poets, novelists, writers came to visit in the fair. Seminars and cultural programs were also held in the fair.

Book fair is very important because it upgrades our thoughts and expands our knowledge. I was very delighted visiting such a fair like this and gathered some new experiences.

A Journey from Dhaka to Baloakandi

By Mahfuza Parul

Last year some of my friends were decided to go to outside of Dhaka for a day. After discussing with my three friends we decided to visit a village, name Baloakandi. On 21 January, 2007 we went to the village Baloakandi. It is in the district of Munshigonj. That was our friend Shikha’s village. It was not far from Dhaka. It took only five minutes from Meghna Bridge.

We started our journey at 8.00 am by a private car. We reached at Baloakandi at 9.30 am. At first, we went to Shikha’s house. We were introduced to all the people of Shikha’s house. We gossiped and passed some times there. After taking our breakfast we went to visit the village.

There was a park near Shikha’s house. We went there and visited the whole park. The park was very nice. It was full of natural beauties. There were many trees in the park. We sat under a tree and gossiped for a long time.

From right me with my friends

We climbed upon a tree and took some photographs. In the park, there was a nice flower garden. In that garden, there were many beautiful flowers. We took many photos in the flower garden.

We went to other side of the park by crossing a small canal. There were only crops field around the canal. We plucked many cucumbers from the crop field. We ate those cucumbers as salad with our lunch.

At 5.30 pm, we started our journey to come back in Dhaka. We stopped our car beside the Meghna Bridge and passed sometimes beside the Meghna River. We took many photos on the bridge. The wild wind was blowing. We were enjoying lot.

When we stay at any river or sea side then it seems to me that every people’s mind becomes fresh and all the sorrows go away for some moments. So, when we were at the side of Meghna River then we forgot our all the sorrows, distress, the busy city life etc. We felt like a free bird in the enormous sky.

Shikha’s family members were very happy to get us. We enjoyed the journey and the place Baloakandi very much. We decided to make such journeys once or twice in a year. I wish we can keep our friendship forever.

Celebrated Friendship Day in 2006

By Kamrun Nahar

1st Sunday of August is friendship day. It is an enjoyable day in the whole world for friends. Most of the friend groups try to celebrate this day with a great joy. I also celebrate this day with my friends.

We are six friends in University. Every year we celebrate this day. But the most memorable and enjoyable friendship day we celebrated in the year of 2006. Then we were in honors 3rd year. That year we decided to wear same dresses. We had selected blue and pink combination dresses.

On the friendship day our friend Lina’s mother was very sick. So Lina could not attend the party. We were very upset and thought that we would not celebrate the day without Lina. But Lina requested us not to spoil the day. So at last we decided to celebrate the day.

On the friendship day we went to Dhanmondi by wearing same dresses and enjoyed the day very happily. Our friend group was a little bit different from other groups for wearing same dresses.

One of our friends Mimi increases our enjoyment by giving us very good news, that-- she is pregnant. Mimi was so happy and she wanted to give us a treat. Then we went to a restaurant and took our lunch. After taking lunch we went to a studio and took a group photograph.

In the afternoon we sat at Dhanmondri Lake for some time and passed the happiest period of my life.

We enjoyed the day and decided to celebrate all the friendship days of our life in this way, if possible.

That day we realized that we can’t live without one another. I wish we will be able to keep our friendship for ever.

An Interesting Story of my Exam

By Shanta Islam

It is an interesting story of my life when I was participating in Secondary School Certificate Examination in 2004. My first exam was English 1st paper. I went to exam hall with my parents. When I entered in the exam hall, my parents were waiting for me at the out side of the hall.

That was the first Board exam of my life. So I was very nervous and afraid. When the bell rang to start the exam, then we took our own seat. The exam started on time. We started our writing after getting the questions. At that moment I was very nervous. But I was trying to write well in the exam paper.

After one hour a police entered in the class room and stood in front of our class. He was searching some one by calling a name ‘Shanta’ again and again. I will not be able to describe my mental situation of that time, because he was calling my name, ‘Shanta’. My heart was beating very fast.

Though all of my classmates knew that I am Shanta, but they did not response. They did not want me to face any unexpected situation. My class teacher and the police were calling the name. Though I knew that I was innocent, but I was so concerned to response. Then the police requested our class teacher to find out ‘Shanta’.

After some time I stood up and informed that I am Shanta. I was waiting to hear any bad news or something bad. But I got very surprise when the police asked me very gently about my exam. Then he gave me a bottle of water and requested me to let him know if I faced any problem.

Then I could not understand what the matter was. Later I came to know that he was my father’s friend. At that time I forgot that my father is also a police officer.

A Memorable Day of my Life

By Salma Akter

When I was in class six, I joined in the Girl’s Guide Association. Some of my classmates also joined with me. We took some training and joined in some cultural functions as a volunteer.

After three years we reached at our expected day. That was Friday. All the students of Girl’s Guide reached at the school field in the morning. We all divided in five groups and made five camps. Here we made some furniture by bamboo and decorated those with beautiful cloths, caps etc. All day we decorated our camp and enjoyed a lot. Then we all sang our Girl’s Guide song “We shall over come”, “Gring gang ole gole washacha” etc. Our senior sisters had also joined with us. The Students of Home Economics cooked for us.

The teachers of Girl’s Guide took our exam and gave us batch. When the teacher was giving me a batch, I was feeling very proud. Then we arranged a cultural program. Before the sunset we burned fire and we all stood around the fire and sang songs.

That day was the most important day of my life, because on that day I got honor and a specific identity as a Girl’s Guide member. I will never forget that day. It was a great experience for me. It is a sweet memorable day of my life.

For the first time I went to the Cox’s Bazaar!!

Written By Farjana Akter

During the last autumn I got a vacation. Our college was closed for one week. Then I made a plan with some of my friends. We wanted to go to outside from Dhaka in the vacation. After discussing with our parents we decided to go to Cox’s Bazaar.

We were six friends. In the early morning we started our journey to Cox’s Bazaar by train. We were very excited. We never go outside from Dhaka without our parents. In the train we enjoyed a lot. We passed our journey time by gossiping, playing cards and reading magazines. We reached at Cox’s Bazaar in the afternoon and rented three rooms in a hotel near the sea beach.

I had never gone to Cox’s Bazaar before. So I had a curiosity to see the sea. In the next morning we went for a walk at the sea beach. It was amazing. After seeing the scenery of the sea beach I became speechless.

We enjoyed the big waves splashing endlessly along the shore. We were amused at the frequent change of color of the sea. I felt like living there for forever.

We passed few happy hours at the sea beach everyday. We took bath there and played beside the sea beach. There we rode on the horse. We took many pictures of the nature. We bought many things and collected many stones, shells etc. Everyday we stayed there till sunset. The scenery of the sun set of the Bay-of-Bengal is unforgettable. It was really a wonderful scene, which is impossible to describe by writing. That can be felt only. I will never forget the enjoyable moments of Cox’s Bazaar in my life. We stayed for four days. It was really a wonderful experience of my life. And I feel that our country is the most beautiful country in the world.

Thursday (15.12.07) morning at 6:30am we caused to depart to the Sylhet. I and my family traveled to Sylhet for visiting the Sahjalal Mazar (one of the famous Mazar of Bangladesh). On Wednesday whole day the sky was cloudy and we heard the news from television and read the news about cyclone. But we didn’t thought that how horrible this cyclone sidr might be. Thursday morning sky was very cloudy and strong wind was blowing with rain. Driver was driven the car slowly. We reached in Sylhet at 1:00pm. I sat beside the window of the car and seeing outside scenery. When we reached in Sylhet it was raining heavily and strong wind was blowing all around. We reached to the mazar wet in rain. When I stayed in Mazar I felt peace in my heart and forget everything about bad weather. I received a phone call from Rafiq Bhai (director of Nari Jibon project) and knew about situation of Dhaka and also informed that tomorrow (Friday) the office will be closed due to cyclone sidr. Then I afraid and wanted to returned to Dhaka hurry. Gradually the weather was becoming very bad in Sylhet area.

After having lunch we took sit in bus at 3:30pm. That journey was long journey in my life and I enjoyed the journey but also was afraid of upcoming cyclone situation. I enjoyed the natural beauty of sylhet and thought how beautiful is Bangladesh. In bus we heard a bad news of an bus accident and where 3 people are dead and more 20 people injured. After hearing this news we were very much anxious. Driver had driven the car slowly and carefully. When we crossed the Sylhet area, we found that car which one fall in accident. We can understand that the driver could not control the car for strong wind and rain. When we crossed Brahmonbaria area, we saw 2 other accident and after seeing this we got frightened and were counting the time when we could reach to Dhaka.

We reached to Dhaka at 9:30PM. We thanked the al mighty Allah that we could reached Dhaka safely but we didn’t know that we have to face inconvenient situation. When we were looking for transport to reach to our resident we could not get any. Every one was trying to reach their home fast because that time wind was so strong and it was raining cats and dogs. We can’t decide what we will do and we had to walk not getting any transport. I faced this situation in my life first. That was awful night for me. I walked in footpath holding my fathers hand and was seeing the situation of street people. They didn’t have any safe place to passed the terrible night. They were wetting in rain and sitting wrapping poly-thin in their body. At last we reached our home fully wet in rain. I felt pain in my legs. After taking dinners we tried to sleep but could not due to for roaring of cyclone.

At about 3:00am I got a phone call from my aunty she informed us that some robber attacked her house and tried to broken the door. She shouted but nobody heard her voice due to strong wind and rain. We were very much worried about her. And that time mobile network was almost down and sometimes we didn’t get her mobile connection due to network problem. Finally we got to know that the robber could not enter her house and we got rid of tension. We passed that night fearfully. I and my family became sick as we had to wet in rain. On Friday I took rest all day long. We had to face the electricity and water problem.

Saturday morning I came to Nari Jibon office. I saw the newspaper and knew that how the cyclone sidr destroyed the costal area of our country and thousands of people killed, thousands of house destroyed and damaged crops of thousands hectors. If we compare the cyclone with the cyclone of 1991 then we could see in this year more crops & houses are damaged but less people are killed this year. We are seeing in TV and news paper that many national and international organizations are helping the cyclone victims along with Bangladesh govt.

Eid Celebration with My Friends

Written By: Mohtarimun Nahar [Bipa]

Hello readers, Eid Mubarak to all. Eid-ul-Fitar is a holy festival for us. I am Mohtarimun Nahar [Bipa]. I have two best friends. They are Kanta and Muna. In every year I celebrate Eid with my family and relatives. After three/four days I celebrate Eid with my friends. This Eid was special for us. Because we, the three friends had same results in Masters [we got first class]. So, we have decided to celebrate our Eid at the outside from our home.

From left, Me With Muna at ‘Boldha Garden’

Kanta & I at ‘Boldha Garden’

On 18th October, 07 the sky was very cloudy. In the morning it was raining heavily. Then we got afraid that maybe our plan will be canceled. But we didn’t cancel our plan. We don’t know, next year where we will be. So, anyhow we will have to get together on that day. Then we left our home in the rain and got together at a shopping complex. There we decided to go to the ‘Boldha Garden’. There are many kinds of trees and a beautiful lake. We sit there and spent some hours together. We took some pictures to one another. Always we don’t get time to spend together. Cause we all are doing jobs. That’s why we always try to enjoy together all the festivals, like: ‘Pohela Boisakh’, ‘Pohela Falgun’, any Fair, one another’s birthday etc.

At 3:00 o’clock we went to have lunch in a restaurant. We had there ‘Kachchi Biriani’ and ‘Borhani’. It was great to have these in a rainy day. After having lunch we decided to visit at any ‘Temple’ to watch ‘Sharodio Durga Puja’ [The Veneration of Hindu religion].

Then we went to ‘Shri Shri Kali Mondir’ and ‘Shri Shri Ram Shita Mondir.’ There we spent time for 30 – 40 minutes and took some pictures there.

We had a great fun for 7/8 hours. We really enjoyed a lot. We hope all the time we will remain as best friend as present. To me without a good friend our life can’t be full-filled. I am very lucky and proud to have them, Kanta & Muna as a best friend.

A Rainy Day of my Life

Written by Helen Sarker

I am Helen Sarker. I think rainy Season is the best season of all seasons. I would like to share a rainy day of my life.

One day I started my journey with my two friends to go to Nari Jibon Project. We are the students of Nari Jibon in English and Computer section. On that day the sky was very cloudy. Suddenly the rain started and we had already left our home. We were getting late for the class. We were looking for a rickshaw. But we didn’t get any. We were just walking and walking. There were water every where and traffic jam occurred on the road. The road became muddy. All of us got wet in the rain. The people were looking at us strangely. It was an embarrassing moment. After two hours we got rickshaw and entered in the class. Then we found, the class already had finished. It was a good experience for me. Cause in the rainy day I wished to wet in the rain. But I couldn’t if I remain at home.

Personally I like rainy day because on this day I can spare my time at home by listening music, watching TV, and reading story books.

Bangladesh has six seasons. Rainy season is one of those. It remains for Ashar and Srabon [Bengali Months]. Nature becomes clean and fresh in the rain. Many beautiful flowers bloom in the Rainy season. I like this season very much.

The Rainy Day

Written by Mahfuza Parul Tania
Pictures taken by Mohtarimun Nahar Bipa

In Bangladesh there are six seasons. Rainy season is one of those. It comes after summer season. On this day the sky remains cloudy. When the rain fall stars everything looks very beautiful. Trees get very fresh and look green. I like rainy day very much. Now I would like share with the readers about a rainy day of my life.

One day it was a rainy day. It was raining heavily since morning. On that day I sit quietly beside the window and I was hearing the sound of the pattering of the rainfall. I saw the trees and houses were bathing in the rain. Street people were running to get shelter from the rain. Some street children were enjoying in the rain and playing football. I wished to go to the street and play with them. But it was not possible for me. So I was to watch them only. But I was enjoying by watching them. Beside that I was hearing music.

After raining people feel so comfortable and the weather becomes fresh and cold. People like this season because they can get relief from the excessive heat of the sun. After raining sometimes we can see rainbow.

Rain is very useful for our agriculture. Our agriculture is mainly depends on it. If the rain comes in time, our farmers can harvest well. After raining all dirty things get washed. Everything looks very fresh and clean.

After raining the lands remain under water for some days.
These pictures were taken from Jamalpur after heavy raining.

Some time the rain creates many problems. Student can not go to school and college timely. People are to suffer very much. They can’t get any transport to go to their office. Traffic jam occurs in every where.

Rainy season is my favorite season. On rainy day I pass my time by reading story books, magazines; watching TV and hearing music.
